Editorial Policy
Last reviewed: 6 September 2026Government document processes affect real decisions. A rejected application, a wasted trip to a service centre, or money paid to someone who had no right to charge it. That is why we treat every guide on DigiIDNow as something a reader will act on, not just read. This page explains how our content is researched, checked and kept current, so you can judge for yourself how much weight to give it.
Our editorial mission
Official government portals are authoritative but often hard to use. Information is spread across circulars, FAQs, PDFs and press releases, written in formal language, and rarely arranged in the order a first-time applicant actually needs it. Our job is not to replace those portals. It is to make them usable: what exactly this process is, what it will require from you, and where the official page is that you actually do it on.
Core principles
Every factual claim traces back to a government portal, notification or official helpline, never to another blog or a forum post.
We would rather publish one guide a reader can follow start to finish than ten thin pages that repeat each other.
Where rules vary by state or a timeline is not officially published, we say so instead of inventing a confident number.
We link only to genuine official portals and warn about the fake sites and paid “agents” that target the same searches.
Who writes our guides
DigiIDNow is a small, independent editorial project, not a content farm and not an agency. Every guide is researched and written by hand by Rovin Singh, and one named person is responsible for what appears on every page. We do not accept guest posts, sponsored articles or syndicated content, and we never publish content written by anyone with a commercial interest in the process being described.
The expertise here is practical: knowing how these portals actually behave, where applications commonly get stuck, and which official page holds the answer. Where a question genuinely needs a professional or an official authority, our guides say so instead of guessing on your behalf.
The sources we use
A claim only enters a guide if it can be traced to a source in the first two columns below.
- Official government portals and their FAQ pages
- Gazette notifications and departmental circulars
- Official forms, fee schedules and instruction sheets
- Government press releases
- Official helpline and grievance channels
- State portals for state-specific rules
- Published official reports and statistics
- Other guide blogs or aggregator websites
- YouTube videos and forwarded messages
- Agent or consultant websites
- Unattributed reports about “upcoming” rules
Where a guide relies on a specific rule, fee or timeline, we link directly to the official page that states it, so you can verify it yourself in one click rather than taking our word for it.
How a guide is made
We start from the questions real applicants ask, such as what documents are needed, what it costs and what to do when something is rejected, rather than from a keyword list. The writer then works through the official portal and documents what actually appears on screen, not only what a circular says should appear.
Before publication, every fee is confirmed against the current official fee schedule, every document requirement is matched to the official list, every timeline is either sourced officially or clearly described as typical rather than guaranteed, and every outbound link is opened and confirmed to point to a genuine government domain.
Updates and corrections
Government processes change without warning. A fee revision, a redesigned portal or a new document requirement can make an accurate guide quietly wrong. So published guides are re-checked against their official sources on a recurring basis, and any guide affected by an announced change is pulled up and updated ahead of schedule. Reader reports are treated as a priority check, not as an opinion to file away.
When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. Where the error was material, meaning it could have caused a reader to act incorrectly, we correct it as a priority and re-check the rest of that guide against its official sources. We do not delete pages to hide mistakes.
Editorial independence
DigiIDNow is self-funded and run independently. This site may display advertising, including Google AdSense, to help support hosting and running costs, but any advertising shown has no influence on what we publish. Advertisers do not see our content before publication, cannot request changes to it, and cannot pay to be mentioned, linked or recommended within a guide. We do not publish paid reviews, paid links or sponsored placements inside our editorial content, and an ad appearing next to a guide is not an endorsement by us.
We also do not run application forms, collect documents, charge fees for any government service, or act as an agent or intermediary. We have no financial interest in whether you complete any process, which is precisely what allows us to tell you when a service is free and when someone is overcharging you for it.
What we never publish
- Unverified “new rule” or “last date extended” claims with no official notification behind them
- Links to any portal that is not the genuine official website for that service
- Any suggestion that a document can be obtained faster by paying an agent or middleman
- Guidance that could help someone submit false information or bypass a verification step
- Requests for readers’ document numbers, OTPs, passwords or personal details
- Alarmist claims about documents being blocked or cancelled without official basis
Found an error? Tell us
If anything on this website is out of date, unclear or simply wrong, we want to know. Reader reports are the fastest way we find out that a portal has changed. Please include the page address and, if you can, what the official website currently shows. That lets us verify and fix it quickly rather than trying to reproduce the problem first.
Please do not send us your document numbers, application IDs, OTPs or scanned documents. We cannot process applications and do not need any of that to fix a page.
