Photo & Signature Resizer

Portal rejected your photo, signature or document for size? Enter the size and KB limit your form asks for, and download a file that fits. Resize a photo, clean up a signature, or turn pictures into one PDF. Works for any form, entirely in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

Fit your file to the form’s limits

Choose what you are uploading, copy the numbers from the upload screen, add your picture, and check the result.

Where to find the size your form wants

Every portal states its limits on the upload screen or in the instructions next to it. Look for four things: the pixel size or the size in cm, the maximum file size in KB, sometimes a minimum size, and the file format. Enter the first three in the tool, and it always saves a JPEG.

The portal’s numbers always win. Limits change from time to time, and different forms and service providers set different limits. The quick fill buttons only save typing. For PAN they use Protean’s sizes (photo 5 × 3.5 cm from 1 April 2026, signature 2 × 4.5 cm), with 200 DPI and a 50 KB limit taken from Protean’s scanning guide. The passport button is the printed photo size of 4.5 × 3.5 cm from the Passport Seva instructions, and it has no file size limit because online upload limits are shown on the portal.

    How to use the resizer

    1. Choose what you are uploading: Photo, Signature, or Document PDF.
    2. Enter the size. Pick pixels, cm, mm or inch to match your form, then type the width, height and the maximum KB. For a PDF, only the maximum KB is needed.
    3. Add your picture from your phone or computer. A clear, evenly lit picture gives the best result.
    4. Position it. Drag the picture inside the frame, use the zoom slider, and rotate or flip it if it came out sideways.
    5. Press the button, then download the file and upload it on the portal.

Cleaning up a photo of your signature

Most people sign on paper and photograph it, and the paper comes out grey with shadows. Many forms reject that. Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper, take the picture in daylight, add it under the Signature tab, and leave the clean-up option on. The tool whitens the paper and darkens the ink, and you can see the result in the frame before you download. Lower the strength if thin strokes fade, raise it if the paper still looks grey.

Making a PDF under a size limit

Some portals ask for a document, such as an address proof, as a PDF under a size limit. Add a picture of each page under the Document PDF tab. Use Rotate if a page is sideways and Move up to fix the order. The tool puts each page on an A4 sheet and lowers the picture quality, and the pixel size if needed, until the whole PDF fits your limit. A PDF with more pages has to be compressed more, so open the download and zoom in to check the text is still easy to read.

Size in cm or mm? How it becomes pixels

Many forms give the size in cm and say nothing about pixels. The tool converts it using the resolution (DPI): pixels = cm × DPI ÷ 2.54. If the form gives no DPI, the tool uses 300. Here are some common widths and heights.

Why photo and signature uploads get rejected

Most upload errors come from a small set of causes, and each one can be checked in seconds.

    1. The file is too large. Phone photos are often several MB. The tool brings the file under your limit.
    2. The pixel size is wrong. A picture that is too big or too small for the box is refused. The frame in the tool is the exact pixel size.
    3. The format is wrong. Forms usually ask for JPG or JPEG. Screenshots and many phone images are PNG or HEIC, so the tool always saves a JPEG.
    4. The file is too small. Some forms also set a minimum size in KB. Use a higher resolution picture if the tool reports it is below the minimum.
Read the picture rules too. Many portals also want a plain background for the photograph and a signature in dark ink on white paper. The tool changes size only, so take the picture the way the form asks.

    Common questions

    Is my picture uploaded anywhere?

No. Pictures are opened, resized and turned into PDFs inside your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, saved, or seen by anyone else.

Will it work for Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID and driving licence?

It works for any form that gives you a size and a file size limit. Type the numbers from the upload screen, in pixels, cm, mm or inches, and the tool makes a file that matches. The quick fill buttons only save typing for a few common sizes.

My form gives the size in cm, not pixels. What do I enter?

Choose cm, mm or inch, enter the width and height, and add the DPI if the form gives one. The tool shows the pixel size it will make. If the form gives no DPI, 300 is used.

What if I only need to reduce the file size?

Tick the option to only reduce file size. Your picture keeps its own shape and the tool lowers the quality, and the pixel size if needed, until the file fits under your limit.

Does the signature clean-up change my ink colour?

Yes. It turns the signature into black and white or grey, which is what most forms expect. If thin strokes start to fade, lower the strength. It works best on plain white paper photographed in good light.

Can I do my photo and signature in one visit?

Yes. Switch between the Photo and Signature tabs. Each tab keeps its own picture and numbers, and once both are ready they appear together under Your files.

Can I make a PDF of my document under a size limit?

Yes. Open the Document PDF tab, add a picture of each page, set the maximum KB and press the button. The pages are placed on A4 sheets in the order shown. Open the downloaded PDF and zoom in to check that the text is still easy to read.

Why does my picture look softer after resizing?

To fit a KB limit, the tool lowers the JPEG quality only as much as needed. It picks the highest quality that still fits, so you get the sharpest file allowed.

My result is below the minimum size. What can I do?

The tool can reduce quality but it cannot add detail that is not in your picture. Start from a higher resolution original, or ask for a larger pixel size.

Which image types can I add?

JPG, PNG and WebP work. Photos and signatures are saved as JPEG, and documents as PDF. A HEIC photo from an iPhone should be saved or shared as JPG first.
